Originally from Aotearoa/New Zealand, Craig McBride has been a Paediatric Surgeon in Brisbane since 2008. He trained in three of the four Paediatric Surgical Units in Aotearoa, before completing his Fellowship at the Royal Children’s Hospital in Melbourne in 2006 and 2007. He’s a Fellow of both the Australasian and the American Colleges of Surgeons, and has both a PhD and a Professorial appointment from the University of Queensland. He is a faculty member at three other universities in Queensland and the UK. As the father of two sons growing up in Australia, he’s interested in trauma and trauma patterns in children – if only to know what to encourage his children to stay away from. He’s a member of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons Queensland Trauma Committee, and a faculty member on the IATSIC DSTC Course (International Association for Trauma Surgery and Intensive Care, Definitive Surgical Trauma Care Course) – a high fidelity trauma course for surgeons, anaesthetists and theatre nurses. He has an interest in conflict, and the occasional conflict of interest
