Dr Christian Karcher

Christian is an Intensive Care Specialist and Medical Donation Specialist at the Royal Melbourne Hospital and Subdean for Simulation at the University of Melbourne. He has a particular interest in resuscitation after cardiac surgery. Christian is the lead author of the Australasian ANZSCTS/ANZICS guidelines on cardiothoracic advanced life support (CALS-ANZ) and is on the steering committee for Cardiothoracic Advanced Life Support for CALS-ANZ. Christian has been involved in healthcare simulation for over 20 years with a particular interest in teamwork, patient safety and airway management and has developed and delivered many successful interprofessional courses for Intensive Care Teams nationally and internationally.
