Anna Holwell

Dr. Anna Holwell is a Specialist General Physician and Head of the Department of Medicine at Alice Springs Hospital, where she has worked for over a decade. She provides inpatient care and outreach clinics to remote Australian communities, with a focus on Indigenous Health, the cultural impact of chronic disease and providing culturally safe health care. As Clinical Lead for Stroke in Central Australia, Anna has developed and implemented key stroke protocols including for acute stroke reperfusion. She received the 2023 Stroke Foundation/Stroke Society of Australasia Stroke Care Champion Award and received a Stroke Foundation Early Career Research Grant in 2024.
