Dr Christine Sanderson is Medical Director of Territory Palliative Care Central Australia. Her ideas about palliative medicine have changed radically since working in the clinical, geographic and cultural complexity of Central Australia. She has developed a deep interest in what a two ways service can look like, how to give safe, excellent and responsive care across the Aboriginal and non-indigenous cultures of Central Australia, and how palliative care can confront issues raised by social and health inequity. A further urgent interest is the creation of sustainable services, training, and models of care that are fit for purpose for rural/remote settings.
