Dr Paul Secomb

Dr Paul Secombe is an Intensive Care Consultant, Senior Specialist Clinician, and Director of the Intensive Care Unit at the Alice Springs Hospital, arguably the most remote ICU in the country. He is a Fellow of and a Supervisor of Training with the College of Intensive Care Medicine (CICM). Paul is an Adjunct Lecturer in both the School of Public Health and Preventive Medicine at Monash University and the School of Medicine at Flinders University. In addition he is the clinical lead for the ANZICS CORE Adult Patient Database. His research foci include functional outcomes in critically ill patients particularly in remote areas, critically ill obese patients, and other vulnerable populations in the ICU. Through his work with ANZICS CORE he has become increasingly interested in benchmarking ICU activity, resource use and outcomes.
