Dr Stephen Gourley
Dr Stephen Gourley is an emergency physician who lives and works in Alice Springs. He came to Alice for three months, and 16 years later is still enjoying the beauty of central Australia and the working with Indigenous communities. He has developed an interest in improving the healthcare for all people living in rural, regional and remote area. He has been the Chair of the NT Clinical Senate, Vice President of the AMA NT and Deputy Chair of the National Rural Health Alliance. He is embarking on a new role as the President of the Australasian College for Emergency Medicine this year. He is the first President from the NT and from a remote area. He is looking forward to encouraging more specialists to join him in working in rural areas and improve the healthcare for all Australians.
